The Clash of Perspectives: Between Behind-the-Scenes and Bubbles

Hey everyone! 🫣
Thursday night, I had a wonderful time at a 5-to-7 cocktail hour. It’s always a special moment for me, because I had the opportunity to chat about my thriller with several people there. Every time, the same realization strikes me: I am deeply surprised by how impressed people are by this project.
For me, in my head, I almost have a hard time understanding that reaction... I catch myself thinking: "Come on, it's just a novel!"
That’s when you realize you have a perspective quite different from the public's. For you, it’s a story coming to life, a universe opening up. For the analyst in me, it’s months of work, dark circles under my eyes in front of a screen, and... epic battles against software!
Because if you only knew what goes on behind the scenes these days! Let's just say printing shipping labels for pre-orders almost cost my printer its life (anyone who has ever messed around with Word templates will understand, it's the worst invention in computing! 😉).
But beyond the little technical stresses, the magic is happening. This Friday was a big day: my graphic designer, Noémie, sent me the very first version of the official layout. My manuscript has finally stopped looking like a working document and is becoming a real book. She's actually putting the finishing touches on everything this weekend to make sure every little detail, every word (and every mention of "enquêteure"! 🕵️♀️) is perfectly in its place.
We are coming up fast on the finish line. Thank you for being here, for being impressed (even if I blush a little), and for being part of this crazy adventure.
Have a great weekend, everyone! ✨
